Irwin J. Kuhn is a member of Dobbins Venick Kuhn and Byassee, PLLC. He received his BA from Vanderbilt and his JD from Cardozo School of Law. Since 1984, he has worked in several areas of litigation. Presently, the primary focus of his practice is family law, both as an advocate and a mediator. Irwin first joined the NBA when he was a law clerk for Justice William Harbison of the Tennessee Supreme Court. He served in various roles including Director of Nashville Pro Bono, and as chair of the General Sessions Committee. He is currently a member of the CLE, Domestic Relations, and ADR committees. Irwin is also a fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation.

Irwin is President of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance, an interdisciplinary group of professionals promoting collaborative family dispute resolution as an alternative to litigation. He is a past Trustee of University School of Nashville, and the Temple. He was Vice President of the Metro Human Relations Commission and board President for Nashville Ballet. Irwin was a member of Mayor Dean’s transition committee. He is most interested in the NBA’s role in furthering collegiality and professionalism among the bar and service to the community.
