2012 NBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES
John C. McLemore
John C. McLemore practices with Garfinkle, McLemore & Young,
PLLC. He received his undergraduate degree from the Virginia
Military Institute in 1970 and his law degree from the Nashville
YMCA Night School (now the Nashville School of Law) in 1974.
McLemore served as the first Editor of The Docket (now the Nashville
Bar Journal) for nine years and received two NBA President’s Awards for his work on
that project, one in 1977 and the second in 1983. He served on the NBA Board from
1980 to 1982 and is often referred to as the Nashville Bar Association’s Official Photographer.
McLemore has photographed NBA events since 1975 and has served as a
member of the Bankruptcy Court Committee for decades. He is the current Chairman of
the NBA Historical Committee and has served as a member of the Chapter 7 Trustee
panel for the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee since 1978.
He is the librarian of the Forest Hills Baptist Church Library.
Bar issues of particular interest are Pro Bono programs and the collection and preservation
of NBA history.
