Maria M. Salas
Maria M. Salas is a solo practitioner at Salas Law Group, PLLC. She
is certified as a consumer bankruptcy specialist by the Tennessee
Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization and
the American Board of Certification. She received her B.S. from Middle
Tennessee State University summa cum laude in 1985, and received
her J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 1992.
Salas was recognized as the Nashville Bar Association Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year
for 2001. She is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Nashville Bar Associations,
Tennessee and Nashville Lawyers’ Associations for Women, the National Association of
Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. She is a fellow
of the Tennessee Bar Foundation and the Nashville Bar Foundation, and is an alumnus
of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law program. Salas is a founding member
and current board member of the Tennessee Stonewall Bar Association. She also
serves on the board of Nashville CARES, and is an alumnus of Leadership Nashville.
Bar issues of particular interest include outreach to solo and small firm attorneys, diversity
in the legal profession, law practice technology, and the NBA Modest Means Initiative.
