Damali booker 1L minority job fair
The 1L job fair is a project conducted by the Minority Opportunities Committee of the NBA.
It is a job fair held in February or March of each year for minority students who are in their first year
of law school, for summer clerkships between their first and second year. In 2003, the job
fair was named in honor of Damali Booker, daughter of Cyrus and Cherie Booker, who had
participated in the job fair as a 1L, was in her 3rd year of law school and had already
accepted a position with an employer she originally met at the job fair. Damali died
unexpectedly before her graduation from law school.

Information for Students
The Nashville Bar Association's annual Damali Booker First Year Minority Clerkship Job Fair will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Nashville, Tennessee. This event will begin with a reception for all candidates and participating employers on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Waller Law Firm, 511 Union Street, Suite 2700, Nashville, TN 37219. (view map).
In mid-December, a list of participating employers will be posted here on the NBA website for the students to review.
We ask that all interested candidates send a resume, writing sample, and both undergraduate and law school transcripts, no later than February 1, 2013, to the Nashville Bar Association, 150 Fourth Ave, North, Suite 1050, Nashville, TN 37219 (Attention: Traci Hollandsworth), in order to be considered for participation in the program. Many area employers begin their recruiting process well before they conduct on-campus interviews, and many others do not interview at law schools. Therefore, it is extremely important that students adhere to the scheduling deadlines.
This year students will have an opportunity to have their resumes critiqued by attorneys prior to submission. Interested students should forward their resumes by email to Traci Hollandsworth by January 7, 2013 to allow sufficient time for feedback.
Contact Traci Hollandsworth at (615) 242-9272 or traci.hollandsworth@nashvillebar.org if you have any questions about this information or the Job Fair.
