The Legal Placement Service is a service of the NBA designed to meet the support staff needs of NBA members. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, temporary or permanent staff, the Legal Placement Service can meet your needs with a substantial savings in time, effort and fees.
All potential employees are screened and tested by a non-commissioned personnel consultant. Please note, this service does not place attorneys.

How Does the LPS Work?
Full-Time Placement Procedures
LPS includes your vacancy announcement in our database within twenty-four hours and immediately begins the process of referring our most qualified candidates to fit your needs. All candidates seeking positions must submit a resume and complete testing.
LPS requires testing of all applicants on the most current software (Microsoft Office or Corel packages), typing (WPM and accuracy) and spelling. Paralegal candidates are also tested on terminology. Applicants then undergo an interview process and reference check. Only the most qualified of these applicants are placed into our database for placement.
LPS strives to provide not only the best price in full-time and temporary support staff but also to maintain the greatest customer service to our employers.
LPS charges a flat fee for regular full-time placement of support staff including receptionists, legal secretaries, and paralegals of $2,400 for NBA members ($2,500 for non-members). These fees are highly competitive and guaranteed. If, for any reason, the placement does not work out, the service offers either a replacement or a pro-rated refund for up to 90 days.

Temporary Placement
The need for a temporary staff person can arise suddenly. We stand ready to meet that need with a proven temporary support staff base. All candidates for temporary placement must meet the same qualifications required of persons seeking regular full-time employment. We realize the necessity of having a temp with law office experience to keep your office running smoothly.
Fees for temporary placements are based on the hourly wage of the employee.

LPS Fees
Our fees are substantially less than other placement agencies, who typically charge 25%-35% of the candidate's yearly salary. We charge $2,500 to non-members for permanent placements and a discounted $2,400 to our members. Should the candidate not work out, for whatever reason, we will offer a pro-rated refund, explained in the 2008 Legal Placement Agreement. The fee for temporary candidates is based on the hourly wage of the employee.

The testing can be charged by package ($200) or by individual module ($25). For testing packages, you may choose which ten tests you want to include, making each package specific to your needs.
