The NBA YLD strives to serve the community while improving the image
of lawyers and the legal profession,
and coordinates both public and member service projects throughout the year. Being active in YLD is a great opportunity for young lawyers to become involved in the Nashville legal community and the community at large. At the same time it allows young lawyers to establish a network of personal and professional relationships with their peers in the Nashville and legal community. The Young Lawyers of the NBA takes an active role in Bar programs and in other community activities.
Members of the NBA YLD must be under 36 years of age OR havegraduated from law school within the previous twelve (12) years as of the first day of the YLD year (November 1). To join, the eligible lawyer must first join the NBA and then pay additional annual dues of $20.

- Social Activities, such as social hours, wine tasting, picnics, hockey games and Nashville Sounds games.
- Oyez!, the YLD's award winning quarterly newsletter, keeps members informed of current and future events as well as providing information on substantive legal issues.
- The annual Carbolic Smoke Ball, a black tie fundraiser for charity. This year's Ball was a spectacular success raising over $14,000 for CASA.
