It's that time of year again! The Davidson County High School Mock Trial Competition will take place on Friday, February 17, and Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Davidson County Historic Courthouse, located at 1 Public Square, Nashville, TN 37201. Parking is available in the garage off of James Robertson Parkway.

Volunteers are needed for each of the five rounds, especially those on Saturday:

Round 1 - Fri. Feb. 17 at 4:00 p.m.
Round 2 - Fri. Feb. 17 at 6:00 p.m.
Round 3 - Sat. Feb. 18 at 8:30 a.m.
Round 4 - Sat. Feb. 18 at 11:00 a.m.
Final Round - Sat. Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m.

Volunteers may serve as a bailiff (timekeeper), scorer (juror), or judge for each round. Please note that presiding  judges and scorers must have law degrees, but a law degree is not required of the bailiffs.  Presiding judges should be prepared to rule on evidentiary challenges and generally oversee the trial progression.  Scorers will sit in the jury box and score the participants.  Bailiffs will keep time for the teams and collect the score sheets at the end of each round. 

If you are available to volunteer, please contact, Becca Barnett (rmb@iplawgroup.com), or Matthew Cox (mcc@iplawgroup.com) and include (1) the round(s) for which you are available; and (2) whether you would prefer to serve as a bailiff (timekeeper), scorer (juror), or judge.

Plan on arriving 20 minutes before your designated round to check in on the 5th floor before going to your assigned courtroom. Feel free to pass this information on to other attorneys, paralegals, and/or law students who may be interested in volunteering.
