Summary
Whether viewed as “planning for divorce” or “planning for marriage,” with the increased number of blended families (roughly half of all families are “blended”), prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are a necessary (and needed) part of “planning.” This seminar will present a detailed overview of both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and also discuss recent caselaw.
This seminar will include:
-The differences between prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
-Key components of enforceable agreements
-Important points to consider in drafting
-Important points to consider in execution
-Main causes of litigation concerning such agreements
-Emphasis will be placed on drafting such documents both from the estate planning and family law angles.
