Young Lawyers Division
The purpose of the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division ("YLD") is to promote a better understanding of the law and the legal profession to the general public, to sponsor community, educational, and professional programs for the general public and the legal profession, and to encourage fellowship among the young lawyers of Davidson County, Tennessee.
To be eligible for membership in the NBA YLD, a person must be a law student or a licensed attorney, be a member of the Nashville Bar Association, and as of the first day of the current fiscal year, either have been under 36 years of age or have graduated from law school within the previous 12 years.
All eligible members will automatically become members of the NBA YLD upon payment of YLD dues to the NBA, subject to a YLD opt-out provision within the NBA application.
Mock Trial Competition
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Davidson County High School Mock Trial Competition is Nashville’s division of the Tennessee State High School Mock Trial competition.The NBA Young Lawyers Division will once again host the Davidson County High School Mock Trial Competition on Friday, February 24, and Saturday, February 25, at the Historic Metro Courthouse. Race Judicata is the YLD’s annual 5K and 10K run open to all participants.
The Arts Immersion Summer Soirée is an annual gathering of lawyers, artist, musicians, and industry professionals to celebrate the intersection of law, art, and entertainment.
Carbolic Smoke Ball
The Carbolic Smoke Ball is the YLD’s annual cocktail and dance party.
