The Nashville Bar Association is excited to host Lainey Feingold for an hour introduction to Structured Negotiation on Wednesday afternoon, February 21, 2018 at 4 p.m., at the NBA offices, 150 4th Avenue North, 10th Floor.
Structured Negotiation is an alternative to litigation aimed at achieving win-win solutions to problems without lawsuits. Lainey describes Structured Negotiation as “a dispute resolution method built on the collaborative notion that if the parties seek common ground, instead of digging their heels into legal arguments, solutions to even complex problems can emerge.”
Lainey Feingold is a California based internationally recognized disability civil rights lawyer who wrote Structured Negotiation, a Winning Alternative to Lawsuits, published by the American Bar Association. She was a 2017 ABA Journal Legal Rebel and speaks internationally about dispute resolution without lawsuits and about her subject matter expertise of accessible technology. Lainey has a 20-year history of working with disability communities to resolve problems with large organizations such as Walmart, Bank of America, CVS, and the city and country of San Francisco. She and her clients have reached agreements with these and dozens of other public and private entities all without filing lawsuits.
Lainey will be in Nashville for a half day Structured Negotiation training on Thursday, but this is an opportunity for her to introduce the broader Nashville legal community to the concept of Structured Negotiation. Lawyers who traditionally represent plaintiffs and defendants, as well as mediators have an interest in alternatives to expensive, time consuming, and uncertain litigation.
