Summary
Ethics in Action:
Inside Tennessee’s Board of Professional Responsibility

1.0 Dual CLE Credit
*All-Access CLE Pass eligible
Join us for an insightful and practical CLE presented by Disciplinary Counsel Eric A. Fuller, a litigator with the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee (BPR). This program will provide a comprehensive overview of the BPR—its role, responsibilities, and processes for investigating and prosecuting claims of attorney ethical misconduct.
In addition to offering a behind-the-scenes look at how disciplinary matters are handled, this session will highlight common ethical issues that arise in probate and estate planning practice and provide guidance on how to avoid them.
Topics will include:
- The most frequent complaints received by the BPR and which are most likely to result in disciplinary action
- The range of disciplinary outcomes and how severity is determined
- How private reprimands work and when they are appropriate
- Common patterns of misconduct identified among disciplined attorneys, with a focus on estate planning and probate practice
