Need Help Finding an Attorney? We're Here for You

Nashville Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service (LRIS)
If you’re facing a legal issue and don’t know where to turn, you’re not alone—and we’re here to help. The Nashville Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) connects individuals like you with qualified, pre-screened attorneys.
Whether you need help with a legal matter or simply have questions about what to do next, LRIS is a trusted first step.
1. Check Attorney Availability
Start by reviewing our list of available legal practice areas (see below). If we have attorneys available in your area of need, you can submit a referral request online 24/7.
SUBMIT REQUEST
Once submitted, our staff will manually review your request and connect you with a qualified attorney. Please note that because we match requests individually, referrals are not instant—we appreciate your patience.
Initial Consultation Fee:
You’ll be referred to a pre-screened attorney who will provide an initial consultation by phone for just $40 (a fraction of typical hourly rates).
This fee is waived for:
Need another referral? You can submit a new request to be matched with a different attorney.
2. No Attorneys Available in Your Practice Area?
If we don’t currently have attorneys available for your case type, try our Attorney Directory to search by practice area.
(Note: Each attorney sets their own fees. We cannot guarantee availability or acceptance of your case.)
For more detailed information, visit the LRIS FAQ page.
